The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and mtvU are collaborating again this year to offer a fantastic opportunity for a few lucky college journalists.
Six individuals from the winning three teams will be flown out to LA for the Oscars will be able to cover Academy Awards pre-events, get access to the red carpet (for the winning team only), and watch the Oscars in-person. Not only is the exposure and networking great for aspiring journalists, but the exclusive access on the red carpet is something very few news outlets get.
This amazing resume builder requires students to produce a video no more than two minutes in length that outlines, in whatever means possible, why a journalist should be chosen for this opportunity.
Once that video is ready, just visit oscars.mtvu.com to submit. The submission deadline is December 18, 2009 so don't miss out.
Three finalists will be chosen from all the submissions and public voting will be available between January 20 and February 10, 2010. A complete list of the rules and regulations are at oscars.mtvu.com as well.

The widely successful contest, in its second year running, resulted in Faheem Ahmed and Anish Patel from Rice University standing on the red carpet and interviewing A-list celebrities. They put together this video from their experience:
The two other runner up teams from San Diego State and Fordham earned bleacher seats along the red carpet along with access to an Oscar viewing party.
